Hortus Animalis e.V., founded in 2003, is a non-profit animal protection association based now in Fürstenau, Germany.
We are a small team of animal friends who feel particularly responsible for emergencies that have little chance of finding a new home quickly.

Our work
• Our focus is on giving shelter to animal emergencies from Germany, as we often have to realize that difficult, elderly or disabled animals have little lobby.
• Certaindog breeds are stigmatized and they are not welcomed by every shelter.
• Due to the fact that the placement of these animals is more than slow, we are desperate for the friendly help of other animal friends and grateful for any support, whether in the form of donations or even energetic help.
• We place them nationwide and take each animal to his new home to get the best possible start.
• Even after placement, we are the contact person for the entire animal life.

Andrea Wachsmann is the 1st chairman of animal welfare association Hortus Animalis e.V..

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
