Sobre nosotros

CHILDHOPE, founded in 1986, is an international, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization whose principal purpose is to advocate for the cause of street children throughout the world. It works toward the liberation of the child from the suffering caused by working and living on the street.

In different countries, there are various alternatives for street children but these initiatives are limited. The role of CHILDHOPE is to act as a facilitator among the different organizations and bring them together and work with them in defending the rights of the street children.

CHILDHOPE Regional Office for Asia was established 1989. CHILDHOPE was recognized as the organization that will initiate networking and collaboration among the different agencies working for street children in the Southeast Asian region. In 1991, it started to respond to requests for information and technical assistance from South Asia. In 1995, CHILDHOPE officially became CHILDHOPE ASIA PHILIPPINES, Inc.

• Community Mobilization against Child Prostitution (Pasay and Caloocan Project): This project was initiated to reduce the incidence of child prostitution. The project components are Advocacy, Prevention, Protection, Capability Building and Care and Rehabilitation.
• The Tahanan Sta. Luisa Welcome (Drop-in) Shelter: The Centers goal is to rehabilitate, ensure and sustain the integration of young street girls below 18 years, and girls who have been sexually abused or prostituted with their families, if feasible, and to society in general. In the Center, the girls are assisted in developing positive values, enhancing in them their feelings of self-respect and self-esteem, so each child can come to a better understanding of herself and her experience.
