About us

The association Monte Azul International (MAI) was founded in 2008. It is active throughout Germany. The honorary board and the association members consist of people who are enthusiastic about the work of the Brazilian NGO “Associação Comunitária Monte Azul” in São Paulo, Brazil and seek to support them from Germany. Many of the members have volunteered there for a while.
Through a variety of public relations, readings, lectures and cultural events we want to carry the impulse of Monte Azul and its values into the world. We spread information and help to find donors.

We also want to help people from Germany, Brazil and other countries to have the experience of cultural exchanges. Many of the club have been on site themselves and have worked for some time on the projects of the organization. The work of the association is characterized by the constancy over many years of its dedicated members. At the same time, it is kept alive by new impulses from returnees from Brazil. This leaves us open to new forms of joint engagement.

Aims:
• The association promotes the social work of the “Associação Comunitária Monte Azul” in São Paulo.
• The association promotes the cultural exchange of young people in order to contribute to a mutual understanding and thereby to a culture of peace.

Viola Ehm is the President of Monte Azul International (MAI).

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
