Über uns

Earthwave Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1994 by Betty Wills, an avid conservationis, with an educational mission to teach conservation and sound conservation practices on land and sea to peoples around the world. Its Board of Directors consists of university professors, environmentalists, fish and wildlife biologists, and conservationists.

Earthwave´s primary mission is to teach biodiversity, conservation, and prudent utilization of the world`s natural resources in order to insure healthy fish and wildlife populations in a healthy, thriving environment.

With the help and tireless support of caring volunteers, we have achieved many of our conservation goals, and helped draw public attention to the plight of several threatened and endangered species.

Activities
• Earthwave Society has focused its efforts on troubled rivers, the loss of wetland habitat, and endangered fish and wildlife species. We are now broadening our focus to include marine environments and the intricate coral reefs that sustain life in the vast oceans of the world.
• As part of this ongoing effort, Earthwave has been involved in the research and development of several nature documentaries for public television broadcast, both in the U.S. and abroad. It is through these documentaries that Earthwave hopes to achieve it´s information and education goals, and perhaps reach even further to re-establish, and in some instances, help create a bond between people and the wonders of nature.
• Earthwave Society produces and distributes educational programming which focuses on conservation, wildlife, the environment, rivers, and oceans for television and DVD.
• We have utilized electronic media to document some of the earliest field research on alligator gar, and the biology and life history cycles of several listed species (ESA), including paddlefish, sturgeon, least terns, and piping plovers.
• Our public television documentaries have served to promulgate a better understanding of good conservation practices.

Betty Wills is the Executive Director of the Earthwave Society.
