Qui sommes-nous

The non-profit association Future Workshop Saar owes its existence to the needs and the impulse of younger and some older Saarlanders for forms of work and life that are free of domination, compatible with nature and sustainable. It was founded in Saarbrücken in 1982 and developed its mission statement as the quintessence of three development phases and practical experience.
Future Workshop Saar is committed to the principle of 'think globally – act locally'. We base our thinking on the assumption that the current socio-political phase is characterized by the long-term transition from the industrial to the 'solar age' (in the sense of a peaceful, just and sustainable world). Municipalities in particular are in demand and suitable as bridge builders.
We deal with the important issues of our time in the areas of society, lifestyle, economy and the environment.

Projects:
From the FF - win Fruits and Friends from all over the world:
• Intercultural women's garden: In 2016,Future Workshop Saar leased a plot in the Dillingen Nord allotment garden association. There we now invite Dillinger citizens and international newcomers to come to the garden together and get to know each other, speak German, make new friends and have fun together.
• Meadow orchards – wild plant park: We look after and design our orchards in the Saarauen together with Dillinger schools and institutions. Here, too, the idea of inclusion is in the foreground and, where possible, wheelchair-accessible paths are created.
• Urban gardening - inner-city herb beds: together with Dillinger citizens, we maintain our wheelchair-accessible herb beds for Dillinger citizens in the town centre of Dillingen/Saar.
• From the FF - other activities: Further integrative and inclusive activities such as workshops, events, lectures based on our "From the FF projects.
More accessible life:
• Wheelchair ramps for a more accessible life
• Tourist development - wheelchair tours in Saarland
• More accessible playgrounds
• Wheelchair ramps made of clamping blocks - Saarland
• Individual actions for more accessibility
• More accessible events - advice and support
Solar Art and Culture - Restarting Culture and ESD: Cultural and Socio-Cultural Program Work
• Wichteltanz und Elfenglanz: A workshop for children from 8-12 years - experience nature with all your senses and sustainable creations in the Garden of the Senses in Merzig
• PRO SOLAR events: implementation of Dillinger solar fairs / PRO SOLAR and participation in energy transition events
Village-Community-Life - A meeting place:
• Here, as a pilot project, the first “meeting place” and a “children's rights playground for everyone” are being created, based on the ten children's rights and coupled with urban gardening in the district of Niedaltdorf in the municipality of Rehlingen-Siersburg. On this playground area, among other things, play equipment is to be installed, as well as a barrier-free circular path and in the centre a flowering meadow with a raised bed spiral from children's rights to nutrition are to be laid out around a central tree.
