About us

Save Me is a campaign founded in 2008 in Munich, which is committed to the humanitarian reception of refugees, in particular through the UN Resettlement Program. At the same time, we provide refugees in Munich with volunteers to provide opportunities to meet each other and build up a welcoming atmosphere. There are already local campaigns in over 50 municipalities and counties: from A for Aachen to W for Werra-Meißner-Kreis. They all aim to get the communities to campaign for a town council resolution that advocates the reception of refugees.

Goals and demands:
• Increasing the resettlement quota
• Improving the framework of conditions for resettlement refugees

Activities:
• Preparation for the arrival of resettlement refugees
• Helping the refugees after arrival
• Support for family reunions and legal matters
• Political work (with governments and authorities at local and federal level)
• Documentation of the resettlement process
• Volunteer and sponsor coordination
• Public relations
• training and networking

Programs and projects
• Sponsorships for refugees from humanitarian admission programs
• Encounter project "Culture Kitchen" brings New-Munichers and locals together for joint cooking sessions.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
