Über uns

Light School, Uriri, founded in 2009, is a non-profit school for less privileged, orphaned and vulnerable children. We provide them with food, clothing, education and health care.
Light School Uriri is a non-governmental school whose purpose is to provide early childhood development and learning programs under a safe living environment for orphans and vulnerable children in rural Uriri, Kenya.
The school’s objectives are:
• To provide the best education system possible,
• to provide a safe, clean, healthy, and conscious living environment for children while at school, and
• to strengthen a sense of sharing, partnership, and social networking in the Uriri district of the Nyanza Province in Kenya.

Light School Uriri’s mission is: The formation of each child’s moral character, skills, talents, and capacities, and achievement of the highest possible academic results.

Light School, Uriri was initiated so that those who wish to make a difference can volunteer or sponsor a child's education without huge costs.
Our Project is operated 100% by volunteers and sponsors. We can organize your travel arrangements, welcome you to our homestay accommodation and again welcome you to work with us in the rural setup of Kenya.
Volunteering areas: Teaching: English and foreign languages, sport coaching, touring, sewing, cooking, health related issues, football, soccer, counseling children, assisting families with everyday needs, visiting the sick and the badly poverty stricken.
Child Sponsorship: At Light Schoo Uriri you can volunteer or offer to sponsor a child's education for the less fortunate, vulnerable or orphaned children. This child education sponsorship program allow people like you the opportunity to provide funds for these children, so they can access quality food, uniform, education and health care.
A monthly sponsorship covers school fees and tuition, school uniforms, feeding programme and medical care.
Light Home of Hope houses 52 both boys and girls
