Sobre nosotros

United Children Integrated Development Action Uganda (UNCIDA), established in 2008, is an indigenous, non-governmental community based organisation working in Western Uganda to advocate for children’s rights, empowering children to enjoy their full rights and aspirations free from harmful practices and violence.

UNCIDA Uganda’s aim is to positively impact on the lives of children and their families through innovative partnerships and by strengthening the voice of these vulnerable groups in Uganda.

Mission Statement
To empower children and their families to be able to enjoy their full potential and to ensure that their rights and aspirations are fulfilled through beneficial partnerships, accountability, mutual respect and transparency in Uganda.

Overall goal
To contribute towards the advancement of integrated, locally-driven solutions and lasting, sustainable improvement in the lives of children and their families in Uganda.

Our work
Implementing high-impact and quality programmes in the areas of child poverty, agriculture, food security and nutrition, HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases, health and well-being, water, sanitation and hygiene, conflict prevention and resolution, passive culture and history-promotion, education, training and employment, child rights-governance, torture-prevention and prohibition, child-protection and legal support, gender equality, climate change and renewable energy in development cooperation.

UNCIDA programming aims to:
• Improve the socioeconomic status of households by increasing financial resources, improving socioeconomic skills and facilitating market inclusion
• Strengthen food security and nutrition by increasing household food production, improving food utilization and referring vulnerable households to agricultural, nutritional and health services
• Increase access to and use of peace and protection and legal services by increasing awareness of child protection concerns, improving referral mechanisms to relevant services and empowering families to use them
• Enhance the capacity of children, young men and women to access or acquire critical services (such as health, education, legal, gender equality, environment, human rights and empowerment) by raising awareness and ownership of critical services, reinforcing civil society support and care for vulnerable children and youth with their families, and developing referral systems, including partnerships with other practitioners.
• Assess individual family vulnerabilities and interests and design customized family development plans
• Build the capacity of local communities to respond to the needs of each family.
