Qui sommes-nous

Community for Change Organization (COCO) is a charitable organization working to help the adolescent youth, women, girls and young mothers together with their children. COCO is a non governmental non partisan and not for profit organization founded in 2016 and officially registered on 15 August 2019.
COCO is an organization established to advocate for girl child right to education and adolescent in Tanzania. This includes addressing key challenges, which limit girl child right to education. The organization seeks to ensure this inherent right is given to all human beings without due regard to gender, discrimination, economic conditions, cultural, social and political justification.

Our vision adolescent’s receiving health care services and engaged in community services.

Mission
Promote education, support and empowerment of community and various spheres of life.

Our work
Recently we had an event training in our Gender Clubs at Mazwi secondary school after that donated sanitary pads for 584 students. That´s the challenge they face while in school.
So COCO is trying to see together with the headmaster if they can get a separate room for girls to exchange pads while in school instead of going back home and loose their subject period.
We also talked about growth and body changes in line with procedures of making simple sanitary pads by using cheaper materials like cotton wool, gauze and a piece of cloth to be wrapped up to support the inner materials, since menstrual hygiene is among the key challenges to girls education.
We are helping young girls by giving them sanitary pads and teaching them how to make them so as to sustain themselves and manage to attend lessons during school classes just like other days “without periods”.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
