Sobre nosotros

Pehchaan The Street School (Trust) is an initiative of a dedicated group of people working together to promote and provide free education for underprivileged children residing on the streets and in slum areas.
Pehchaan, a word that means ‘to recognise’- To recognise the dire need to educate our children, irrespective of their pockets, is our motive.

Our aim is to reach out and provide free education to every child in the city who is deprived of basic educational resources.

Our mission
• Provide free education for underprivileged children residing on the streets and in slum areas.
• To provide free education to weaker sections of society and to make them self reliant.
• To provide support to underprivileged people and support women empowerment.
• To provide healthcare opportunities, legal aids, financial support to the underprivileged.
• To provide vocational employment & educational opportunities.

Pehchaan The Street School had its humble beginnings in the year 2015 with five volunteers and ten children. Today, it has over 1000 children under its aegis with more than a three hundred active volunteers across 8 centres working tirelessly towards its mission.
We are currently working at Indraprastha Metro Station, Kirti Nagar Metro Station, Satguru Ram Singh Marg Metro Station, GTB Nagar and Laxmi Nagar in Delhi, Mayur Vihar, Noida, Paschim Vihar and Dehradun.
We look forward to increasing our centres to other locations as well, actively engaging bright minds to strive towards their goals.
Active since 2015, Pehchaan The Street School functioned as a volunteer group for three years. To cater to the needs of an increasing number of students, Pehchaan registered as a trust in Delhi in the year 2018.

Our work
Along with the help of our volunteers, who take out time every weekend to impart primary and secondary education to kids from different slums across Delhi, we hope to dismantle social and class hierarchies, and provide an opportunity for every kid, irrespective of their background, to realize their potential and make the most of their lives, creating a new identity for themselves. 6 years of impactful work, positive feedback, and over 300 volunteers looking over 1000 students later; Pehchaan is running the program with the aim of benefiting underprivileged students across the city;
•SHIKSHAANTAR”. Learning without barriers is the main objective of Shikshaantar. Being out of school puts these children at greater risk of exploitation, child marriage, and lower income-earning potential. By joining hands with us, you can open doors for the children to explore and to recognize their abilities and skills.
#Shikshaantar is an effort to reach out to each & every child, across the city, who needs help in terms of education or educational resources. We will try our best to help such children in whichever & whatever way we can.
•Stationery Supplies – We Regularly provide our children with stationery supplies and school books & other educational material.
•Medical Camps - Bringing Medical professionals from various hospitals to our centres and conducting regular health checkups of our students and their families.
•Skill development Workshops - Bringing skilled experts and mentors to our centres and conducting workshops to help our students to make use of the learned skills for future prospects.
•Blanket Donation - Every year at the end of autumn we organize blanket donation drives not only at our centres but, also to people who reside on the Streets.
•Food Donation - We have organised multiple donation drives to help children & their families during the Covid 19 Pandemic.
•Extracurricular Activities - From yoga camps to magic shows, from dance to painting competition, we organise multiple activities for our students.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
