About us

The association migration_miteinander was founded in April 2017 by a group of young people united in the goal to forge a cooperation between migrants and local populations and to promote a Europe based on solidarity and mutual support.

Our main objectives are to promote European mobility, not only for Europeans but also for migrants in Europe and to prepare young people to use their European Citizenship in an active way.

To achieve this, we implement empowerment and exchange programs for migrants and young Europeans, organize youth exchanges and facilitate inner-European legal migration to Germany for migrants in the EU. We offer intercultural projects and prepare young people for becoming the change-makers that will contribute to the shaping of their society.

As well as being our target group, young people also make up our diverse team which comes from all corners of the EU and beyond.

Projects:
• Yalla Integra 2.0: Yalla Integra! aims to bring people within Witten and nearby together. The focus of this project are the Tandem partnerships. In order to bring together theoretical learning and to strengthen a practical exchange, we support the creation and exchange between two people.
• mobility4U(s): Our project mobility4U(s) aims to increase young refugees’ access to existing youth mobility programmes in Europe (both national and European ones) by informing them on and concretely supporting them to participate in such opportunities.
• moveurope !- Promotion of mobility for refugees in the European Context: moveurope! is a two-year project (3/2020-6/2022) which aims to promote and facilitate young refugees’ access to mobility programs through a strengthened youth work framework. The target groups of the project are youth workers that support young refugees or are involved in the mobility field, providers of mobility programs (such as youth exchanges, volunteer services and alike) and of course young refugees who wish to participate in such programs.
• European Solidarity Corps in the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis: For more than two years our association has been implementing projects as an accredited hosting and supporting organisation within the framework of the European Solidarity Corps Programme (ESC) – former European Voluntary Service – and in close cooperation with our European partners.
• Active involvement of Women in the neighbourhood: Together with the Quartiersmanagement Witten Heven-Ost/ Crengeldanz, we want to engage in in-depth conversations with 20 women with a migration or refugee background. We will be working with women in the Quartier Crengeldanz, Witten, and hope to listen to their experiences, engagement in the community, and further needs/wishes for the area.
• Job Hunting Café: The Bewerbercafé (eng. Job Hunting Café) promotes integration for people with a migration- or refugee backgrounds in the local job market. The consultation hour offers the necessary orientation regarding the German labour market and its “codes of conduct” by providing individual guidance.
• Online Language Café
