Since Heart to Heart was founded in 1998, we aim to bring life, hope and opportunity to children orphaned or vulnerable in South Africa, because of HIV/AIDS, TB and poverty. Our multicultural and talented staff is made up of a hundred percent (100%) female Team who express our values of Love, Integrity, Faithfulness and Excellence in all we do. We are passionate about the wellbeing of Orphaned & Vulnerable Children, Youth and Women, therefore managing projects with respect, ingenuity and creativity. Heart to Heart Care Centre South Africa is a registered Non-profit (NPO-032-661) as well as a Public Benefit Organization (PBO-93001-4328). Heart to Heart is a dynamic Community Based Organisation, providing a service of excellence. As a non-profit organization we manage Heart to Heart in a way that we can gain the greatest possible value from every Rand spent, while having the greatest possible impact on society. Heart to Heart believes that TOGETHER WE CAN Change the Destiny of Children One Child at a Time.

Vision
We are passionate about providing Holistic Care, Psychosocial Support, Education and Empowerment to Children, Youth and Women. We strive to see a self sustaining community. We are tackling poverty that is centered around dignity and not dependence.We give a hand up and not a hand out.

What we do
• Change Won: We comprehensively Equip and Uplift vulnerable students through early Intervention and Prevention, aiming to decrease the general High School dropout rate (60% DBE 2015), with our multifaceted programme. Students are empowered to become the best version of themselves possible.
• Power Up!: Targeted at Grade 12 girls. It’s a comprhensive programme building strong, confident young girls to become Game Changing Women. Our aim is to enroll at least 50% of girl students in Tertiary Eduation.
• Pregnancy Care: This team is dedicated to Care for and Support Teenage Girls and Women who find themselves in a crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy.
• Literacy Centre: Our Literacy Centre was launched on Mandela Day, the 18th of July 2019, this Programme is a Social Franchise Model independently designed and supported by the Shine Trust. 70% of children between ages 8-10 years old will not be able to speak, write or read English by the time they are 13 years old. This Programme provides individualized support to children in Grades 2 & 3 to strengthen their English reading, writing and language skills - while growing a love for reading. • Nutrition: We prioritises families that have no income, with a special focus on child-headed households and the elderly who are raising their grandchildren who have been affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. There is 2.8 million Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and 150,000 Child-headed homes in South Africa. Nearly 7,500 children under the age of five die annually in South Africa as a direct result of hunger. • Heart2Shop: We fundraise by selling pre-loved clothing through a thrift pop-up shop, purposed to highlight the message of conscious consumer recycling and material reuse for community benefit.
