Qui sommes-nous

Intercultural Project Heroes design and organize recreational activities and extracurricular cultural education for children and young people in Neuss, Germany. The association has existed as a registered society since 2016, but had previously been a youth initiative for years. In 2017 we also moved into our own facility at Berghäuschensweg 30, but many projects continue to take place in various institutions of Neuss. We have been running our own youth centre "Das InKult" in the Augustinus quarter since 2019.

Work of the association
Our art and culture projects for children and young people, which are designed and supervised by artists and teachers, as well as young volunteers, parents or pensioners, can be classified into the following areas:
• Identity strengthening
• Interactive integration work (teaching against prejudice and extremism)
• Gender Equality
• Promotion of encounters
• Promotion of personality discovery
• Promotion and discovery of talent

Goals
The aim of our work is to accompany and support adolescents on their way to becoming open, tolerant and self-confident as well as responsible people. We also want to help them discover and develop their talents and find and appreciate their individual identity.
We live in a multi-ethnic society which, due to its diversity, brings with it challenges but also great enrichment. We want to give children and young people the inner skills to successfully shape the future of this society and their own.

Specifically, we offer the following in the program:
• Cultural education
• Recreational educational projects
• Counselling services for families, day-care centres and schools, advanced and further training for specialists
• Language and learning support (education and participation) BUT

Projects:
• Youth centre das InKult: The InKult is a meeting point for children and young people in Neuss. The focus here is on integration work for all children. A special focus is on artistic development, through art and music projects. The youth centre has a games area and also offers opportunities for handicrafts or cooking. In order to reach many different children and young people, Das InKult works on a cross-regional basis.
• Mobile art and culture project: We offer various activities in the field of cultural education and leisure time activities for children and young people. Especially during the holiday season and at weekends, it is important to offer young people opportunities to promote talent, develop their interests and develop their personalities. We therefore pursue the following goals with our projects: fun, respect, tolerance, communication and participation in social life through interaction and togetherness.
• Language and learning support (education and participation) BUT: In addition to our fun projects for children and young people, our teachers offer learning support for all school classes and school subjects. The teachers, who have been working with children and young people in the city of Neuss for years, have been giving tuition in all school subjects for over 10 years. Lessons take place in small groups. Individual lessons are also available if required. The professionals attach great importance to working together and interacting with parents and the school in order to better support the promotion and development of the students. There is the possibility of financial support for applicants for learning support for private tuition.
