About us

The Abaana Community Outreach Africa (ACO-Africa), founded in 2011, is an awareness and an activism non-profit organisation located in Ohio State University and in Uganda that works directly with communities and selected community based organisations (NGOs/CBOs) in Uganda, whose mission, goals, and objectives are to influence sustainable social change, economic and create positive impacts in communities infected and affected by HIV&AIDS.

We provide needed services (e.g. education, economic, infrastructure, health, human rights, psychosocial care, nutritional support or financial) and guidance for HIV positive children and women, orphans and some disadvantaged individuals, and communities directly affected by conflict, disease, and poverty.

ACO-Africa implements activities under the following strategic areas
• Education
• Health
• Food security and nutrition
• Economic empowerment
• Human and Child Rights and
• Psychosocial support and care

The foundation operates currently in three districts of Uganda including Masaka, Mityana and Wakiso districts. With services like education, economic, nutritional, health and psychosocial support, care and guidance for HIV positive and orphaned children, HIV positive women, disadvantaged individuals, and communities directly affected by the pendamic (HIV) and poverty.

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Also we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
