About us
ora Kinderhilfe international e.V. has been committed to helping children and families in need since 1981. We are currently active as a Christian relief organization in ten countries and ensure that children are adequately fed, sufficiently clothed, medically cared for and can attend school regularly.
We provide the necessary basic care and thus invest in the future of the children. With enough food, healthy growth, and regular access to education, they can one day provide for themselves and leave poverty behind.
In order to support the parents as well, we initiate income-generating programs and offer seminars and training courses that help the parents to lead their lives independently. In this way, we engage in development cooperation.
We are also involved in disaster relief. We provide fast and uncomplicated help with the basic necessities of life when people suddenly fall into great despair. We distribute food, clothing, medicine, and hygiene packages and carry out reconstruction work wherever we can through cooperating with local partners.
Projects
Education:
• For example in Kenya, we support Chafisi Orphanage which is an orphanage and a boarding school. We pay teachers' salaries, operating expenses, food, seeds and electricity.
Nutrition:
• Agricultural projects in Kenya
• Construction of wells and greenhouses in Kenya-Ilbisil
• Storage and cooling facilities for crops in Kenya-Kinari and Karangatha
• Chicken, pig and goat farms in Kenya
• Non-contact distribution of food parcels during the Corona emergency relief effort
Health:
• The first step: Regular care for children and families.
• The second step: We ensure access to medical care.
• The third step: We focus on education. We provide education in seminars and training courses. Together with our project partners, we impart knowledge in a simple and clear way. By continuing to accompany the ora sponsor children and their families, we ensure that what has been learned is retained and applied.
Disaster Relief:
• We alleviate suffering by distributing food parcels, clothing and medicine. In addition, we provide pastoral care, pray with people and comfort them in seemingly hopeless situations.
• If possible, we also participate in reconstruction. We repair schools, houses, electrical and water lines wherever we can find cooperation partners and where our project partner is able to coordinate construction projects. As a manageable relief organization, we are dependent on experts and other partners at this point.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
