Qui sommes-nous

Njonuo Fe Mo – Women's Ways in Togo - supports disadvantaged women and girls in Togo, West Africa, on their way to independence and to an improvement in social conditions in their homeland. We are a society based in Kiel, Germany, which has a development partnership with the society NOVILONLON in the village of Togokome in southern Togo. Our organisation was founded in Kiel in early 2009. The founder members were men and women, some of whom had educational and psychological backgrounds or had worked for women. Some had connections with Togo, some came from there.

In addition, our organisation wishes to encourage mutual learning between Europeans and Africans by working together on social and educational projects in Togo. We take the interests and needs of the people living there as our starting point. They develop their strength and vision from African culture and are aware – or become aware – of their own resources. We understand cooperative developmental work as a shared cross-cultural learning process.

Planned activities
• Sponsoring girls, assistance for regular schooling, provision of learning and work materials.
• Support for young women in training for a job with future prospects.
• Supportive measures in the health care sector.
• Giving micro-credits for women's business start-ups.
• Informing Germans about the living situation of Togo families by information events, German-African festivals and study tours.

Projects:
• Dressmaking workshop with solar power: our society has begun a new project which is financially supported by BINGO SH. BINGO SH is promoting the building of a dressmaking workshop as a training centre for dressmakers and the provision of a solar plant to power the electric sewing machines, irons ...
• SISTERS - Women's ways in one world: we want to build a group of West African and German women who meet regularly, get to know each other and develop common aims for the cooperative development work in Africa.
• Creation of a chicken farm at the Togokome Primary School. Another building block in the systematic furtherance of women and girls in Togo is the construction of a small chicken farm on the school grounds in Togokome
