Sobre nosotros

Hope for a Better Future (H4BF) is a nonprofit development organization that drives innovation from the ground up to enhance health, end hunger, overcome hardship and advance women & girls—resulting in meaningful and measurable change in people’s lives.
H4BF envisions a world in which the most vulnerable people will have the power to lift themselves out of poverty and to create vital, healthy lives for their families and communities now and for the future.
H4BF is an organization in special consultation status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since November 2020 and equally a member of the NGO Committee on Social development with the UN since the December 2020. Hope for a better future (H4BF), created in 2009 and registered in 2014 as a cooperative with board of directors, with increasing developmental, violence against women and girls and humanitarian needs and challenges in Cameroon, she was updated as nonprofit organization in 29th June 2017 with Ref No: 19/E.27/750/SAAJP under the Cameroon Government.

Our mission
We promote innovation from the ground up in Cameroon to advance women and girls, improve heath, reduce hunger, and overcome adversity, resulting in meaningful and measurable impact in people´s lives.

H4BF's projects are community driven, asset based and empowering which:
• Ensures that women & girls control their futures, are valued as leaders, have access to resources to thrive, and live in safe communities where their rights are protected,
• Ensures that individuals, households, neighborhoods and communities are healthy and achieve sustained physical, mental and social well-being,
• Ensures that vulnerable individuals, households and their communities achieve improved food, nutrition and livelihood security for sustained resilience,
• Supports vulnerable communities to overcome hardship by responding to crises, addressing root causes of vulnerability, and laying foundations for recovery and resilience.

What we do?
• Advancing the rights of women and girls: Our initiatives help teenage girls stay in school, prevent HIV and early pregnancy, and reduce gender-based violence and exploitation by increasing women’s access to economic opportunities and health services. We also work with families and communities to keep adolescent girls in school.
• Helping to end hunger: Our food security programs aim to eliminate hunger and malnutrition by teaching climate-smart and nutritionally tailored agriculture techniques, boosting livelihoods, promoting health, nutrition, and hygiene, and supporting integrated school feeding programs.
• Enhancing health: To promote sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, maternity, newborn, and child health and nutrition, we strengthen health systems, service delivery methods, and linkages within and between communities and health institutions.
• Overcoming hardship in vulnerable communities: H4BF works with community organizations, local schools, and the commercial sector to build long-term disaster risk management strategies.
• Create perspective for vulnerable young people and women through Skill trainings, leadership trainings, capacity-building programs and starting up social enterprises
