Qui sommes-nous

Orient Express is a non-profit, neutral and religiously unaffiliated organisation that operates a women´s counselling centre, a language learning centre and a shelter for young women. The organisation was established in the year 1988 by and for Turkish migrant women. The organisation changed its name to Orient Express in the year 1996.

We offer our counselling services to women with a migration background, mainly from Turkey and the Arab region. In case of forced marriage we provide counselling and safe accommodation for girls and young women of all nationalities.

We provide information and support on issues such as:
• Family and partner problems
• Violence and abuse
• Forced marriage
• FGM (Female genital mutilation)
• Generation conflicts

Complementary to these issues we also offer counselling on issues such as alien law, financial, psychosocial and health topics and in some cases legal advice. Furthermore, we offer training courses and workshops for multipliers and youth (for example in schools) and hold on request information events, lectures, etc..

Our services are free, confidential, and comprehensive and are offered in the following languages: German, Turkish, Arabic and English.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
