About us

DAUG's mission is the provision of various services to enable scientific projects to be carried out at Afghan universities, especially the promotion of the education of students, post graduates and lecturers in Kabul, as well as the supervision of Afghan students and post graduates in German universities and colleges.

These services include the procurement of money and goods for the purposes outlined in the first paragraph, as well as offering support to the faculties and scientists involved, by fund raising for their scientific projects.

Projects:
• Salam Alaikum – Fight 4 Peace: DAUG organises a boxing match for Afghanistan. FIGHT 4 PEACE is a charity boxing gala between Hamid Rahimi and Afghanistan Blogger Boris Barschow. The 45 year-old journalist challenged Afghans living in Hamburg to a show fight, to raise awareness of the political and social situation in the Hindu Kush.
• “Afghanistan after 2014 – withdrawal from responsibility”. This was an event organised by the Institute for Church and Society from 14 -16. December 2012 .
• A chair for Kabul: this is a campaign supporting the reconstruction of Kabul University and funded by DAUG.

Andreas Dittmann is the president of DAUG.
