Qui sommes-nous

Action for change (AFC) is a development driven, non-profit organization that started in 2012 as an informal voluntary group. It was later constituted and registered on November 19, 2015 with Registration No: 039/D14/5/871 and headquarters presently in Buea, South West region of Cameroon.

Our Objectives
• To reduce poverty by promoting sustainable livelihood initiatives;
• To promote hygiene and sanitation in schools and communities
• To sensitize communities on the danger of environmental destruction
• To promote prevention of HIV/AIDS among adolescent girls and young women
• To promote the development and growth of education in poor and disadvantage communities

The goal of AFC is to empower and sustainably improve the living conditions and the environment of our target groups (mainly women/widows, children, vulnerable youths and disadvantaged rural communities) through education and training, community development, provision of clean drinking water, hygiene and sanitation, environmental protection and sustainable livelihood initiatives for poverty alleviation.

Our policy of participatory approach drives our actions. We strive to maintain fairness, equity, and no discrimination based on sex, tribe, origin, race or religion. We continually strive to address structural causes of poverty and economic dependency.

Projects:
• Youth Vegetable Gardening Project in Kombo village, Cameroon. This project is initiated to train and assist 20 youths who have shown interest in vegetable gardening as a livelihood and income generating activity. The project will enable youths to be economically independent as it will provide them with skills and support to establish their individual vegetable gardens (tomatoes). We believe training, assisting, and working with youths is a feasible and practical approach for us to contribute to a better world, as this will reduce unemployment among youth, crime waves and other malpractices.
• Hygiene and Sanitation project in Ndong primary school. Here we constructed a disable friendly modern pit toilet of four compartments and provide pipe born water to the school for the benefit of orphans, poor, needy and internally displaced children attending the school. This project has enhance education and improved hygiene and sanitation in the school. Cholera, typhoid, diarrhoea and other water related diseases has stop in the school community based on statistics from the local dispensery. Over 450 pupils are benefitting from this project.
• Classroom furniture and a mini-library project in Kombo communityprimary school. With this project, we provided more classroom furnitures and a mini-libray at Kombo primary school. This project has enhance education in Kombo primary school as kids now sit comfortable during lesson, than before the project. Equally, kids now have access to textbooks and other learning materials.
