Über uns
As a part of the international Don Bosco network, The Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society is a Registered Charitable Society based in the State of Kelara, primarily operating in the District of Trivandrum to help youth and children at risk. It was founded in 1991 and started functioning as a night shelter facility for the young at risk and has continued to grow ever since.
The Trivandrum Don Bosco Veedu Society offers diverse range of services to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people through four core centres as well as through Community and Society based activities.
Our Mission:
• To reach out to and rescue children and youth at risk: to protect them; to restore them;
• To inspire them towards dignified life protected from abusive and dehumanizing situations,
• To advocate on their behalf to restore their rights and
• To be catalysts in the formation of a child friendly society.
We aim to:
• restore children found on the street with their own family
• provide shelter to those children and youth at risk who have no home, and provide them with opportunities for holistic growth
• improve the overall educational status of youth at risk
• protect street children against all forms of abuse and exploitation
• spread awareness and elicit understanding among the general public about the issues of street children and other issues
• advocate and lobby on behalf of children at risk with the stake holders and Government
• educate children in life skills and empower them to stand up for their rights
Activities
The manifold welfare activities for children and young at risk in and around the Trivandrum Streets are carried forward by Don Bosco Veedu Society through its four different Centres.
