Über uns

Girls Education Mission International (GEM International) is a Nigerian non profit, non-governmental organization on a mission to reach out to and advance the circumstances of girls who are not provided with strong motivation to pursue their education and reach potentials. Dreamt and begun in 2007, GEM International was officially registered in 2011.
We are committed to protecting, promoting and defending the rights to education for girls.

Our vision
GEM International envisions a world where girls become visionary women of integrity and productivity. We want to see girls and women creating change and making lasting impact in their communities. We are at the center of global commitment to reach out to and advance the circumstances of girls who are deprived of education and training opportunities to attain a better life.

Our mission
GEM International is on a mission to establish visionary teams of young women and girls with relevant knowledge and practical skills that will enable them become agents of change, capable of helping themselves and influencing their communities for good.

Our specific objectives are:
• To advance girls access to education thereby encouraging the learning and growth of girls individually and collectively.
• To identify and support girls who are at risk of, or who have survived violence/abuse.
• To promote economic empowerment towards the self-sufficiency of girls and women.

Our programs offer
• Academic scholarship to educationally committed girls.
• Literacy and Skill acquisition training to girls and women who have dropped out of school.
• Capacity building and leadership training workshops.
• Entrepreneurship and mentoring.
• Enlightenment and awareness campaigns/rallies

Keturah Shammah is the Founder and Executive Director of Girls Education Mission International (GEM International).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
