Über uns

Puntland Minority Women Development Organization (PMWDO) is a Community Service Organization (CSO) established in 2001 in Galkayo District of Mudug Region of Puntland State Somalia. A group of women professionals from the minority groups formed the organisation as a response to the need for the provision of essential social services for the marginalized people in the community and as a platform to champion for their fundamental rights as bonafide citizens of Somalia. PMWDO is an independent, non- political, non-profit seeking, and non-governmental women Organization.

PMWDO´s main objective is to improve the social welfare and to build the capacity of the marginalized minority community through the provision of primary education, health care services and capacity building training in environmental management and income generation for the long-term sustainability of development.

PMWDO has been implementing community programs in areas of
• Health,
• Education,
• Livelihood trainings,
• Human rights awareness,
• Peace and reconciliation,
• Youth civic engagement,
• Emergency and disaster relief mitigation.

Dr. Maimuna Farah Samatar is the Director of the Puntland Minority Women Development Organization (PMWDO).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
