About us

The Association of Youth Welfare Labour Camps (A.C.J.) was founded in 1967. It is a non-governmental and charitable association with 16 subject areas in Morocco. Among their objectives:

- integration of young people into the cultural and social life,
- improvement of the circumstances of life of the social classes in vulnerable situations,
- the re-establishment of a useful dialogue between the different cultures in order to introduce a fair peace.

A.C.J. organizes voluntary international labour camps where volunteers from different countries and horizons are divided into new groups. These labour camps last from two up to three weeks (short-term) and more for long-term labour camps.

The volonteers perform or take part in actions which touch the community life directly. These actions are as follows: sensitization campaign to protect the environment and to fight against diseases which are sexually transmissible. Free-time activities with the young people of the poor districts. Protection of the cultural richness indirectly through the restauration of historic monuments.

A.C.J. organizes labour camps which deal with the following subject matters: A campaign of sensitization at the beach of the city of Salé among the summer holiday-makers to preserve the cleanliness of the beach and in addition to that the free-time activities with the children of the summer holiday-makers. The restauration work at the sites of the Roman ruines of VOLIBILIS.

Free-time activities in the poor districts of Salé and Molay Dris Zerhoun (theatre, paintings, education of the citizens, sports....etc.) and also in the rural area where the young people do not have any means to travel.

A campaign to collect school supplies will take place before the beginning of terms to help the pupils of poor families. In cooperation with local tradesmen A.C.J. organizes meetings to demonstrate how to work on ceramics which are open to international participants.

As per agreement, we can offer overnight accommodations for other net participants. We can procure expert information on politics and educational projects, municipal projects, aid organizations and establish contacts in the field of human rights and women's associations.
