Established on the 15 August 1991 as a platform of for discussion and action on development issues concerning the KISAN, rural poor and villages, Sita Gramoudyog Vikas Sansthan (SGVS) was founded by a group like minded associated to involve the rural poor in various development activities.

Mission: To educate, organize and empower the rural poor for promoting development as a liberating force aimed at justice, economic growth and self reliance and to capacitate the person with disability for social participation.

Goal: Work for all round development of village community of Bihar and continuous improvement in socio-economic and moral status of native people.

Objectives:
• To work for continuous improvement in socio-economic and moral status of village community.
• To promote Khadi Village industries for all round development of villager.
• Promote principles of Sarvodaya (unto the last) Bhoodan & Gandhian Philosophy.
• To work for sustainable agriculture and rural development practices by promotion of fertilizer, animal husbandry, Dairy, economic agriculture etc.
• Work for education for the underdog and disadvantaged section of our society.
• Remove social evil e.g. untouchability, casticism, communalism, class intervals, down atrocities against women etc. and restoration of dignity of disabled and Senior Citizens.
• To work for curative, preventive & primitive healthcare of the people and accelerate initiation of population stabilization.
• To promote environmental sanitation and safe drinking water.

Our Programmes:
• Health: AXSHYA project control of Tuberculosis (TB); vitamin `A´ distribution Program; AIDS control program; Community Health Promotion focusing women and children; Health Awareness; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
• Empowerment: Empowering the powerless through community participation; Awareness generation on women rights; Awareness generation on Right to Information; Women Development programme
• Awareness generation: Awareness generation on Child & women trafficking; Awareness generation & Rehabilitation to Person with Disability; Gender Awareness programme; Awareness building HIV/AIDS.
• Training: Art & Craft Promotion programme; Terracotta Training for women; Skill development/vocational training; Training to ASHA (Village level Health workers of Bihar Government)
• Workshop / Seminar / Awareness Camp Right to Disability; Panchayati Raj Awareness programme; Modern technique to farmer programme
• Child development: Support to poor children – nutritional diet, uniforms etc.; Support to poor village girls for primary education.
• Sustainable livelihood: Income generation through Khadi & Village Industry related programmes.

Rabindra Sharma is the Secretary at Sita Gramoudyog Vikas Sansthan (SGVS).

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Also we can establish new contacts in the field of our work.
