Über uns
One Link is a non for profit making organisation, dedicated to working with children, families marginalized groups and communities in Rusinga Island, Kenya to reach full potential by addressing the causes of poverty and injustice low level of education inequity facing gender.
We partner and work with volunteers, the Government, sponsors, donors and cooperates to realize our goal.
Objectives:
• to establish a resource centre for social, cultural, economic and technological empowerment
• to build network centre for community focal point for development
• to promote and improve learning through research based programmes within the community
• to provide linkages and partnership through social interaction for global friendship
• to foster on UN goal of long lasting partnership for economic and social development
Vision
A healthy transformed, informed and empowered community
Through our strategy, we envision community development through networking. To this end we work with, volunteers, donors, partners to improve livelihoods and resilience, education & skill development, health, nutrition capacity and HIV/Aids, and access to information and quality research based programme through resource centre, for children and their families.
Through our advocacy net work we reach decision-makers, who have power to change unjust policies and practices within the society. `
We serve and work with all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender ,social and economic background.
How we work
One Link offers an opportunity to have a volunteer placement that will give you contact with local people who are eager to pass knowledge of their culture, language, sport and traditions and is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community, assisting in areas of education, environment, fishing and farming.
We work with the people with the good will who are enthusiastic to help others always, Volunteers and return volunteers who are willing through the spirit of de-corps to be one link ambassadors and love for team work, this course needs many who are dedicated and we need more ambassadors to join.
David is the Project Coordinator for the One Link Resource Centre.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
