Area of focus
• Forest: On Forest, Go Green Save the Environment focuses on reforestation. Reforestation is the replanting of trees that had been cut down. So far we planted trees in the following school around Nkhata bay. Happy day schools, Saint Maria, Kunyanja pvt school, Kalambwe school and also in a community of chief TA Mkumbira, VH Mtilirwa.
• Plastic Pollution: Environmentally, plastic is a growing disaster. Most plastics are made from petroleum or natural gas, non-renewable resources extracted and processed using energy-intensive techniques that destroy fragile ecosystems. Therefore we encourage people to carefully dispose plastics and carry their own bags when going to the market.
• Lakes: On lakes, Go Green Save the Environment focuses on Fish Conservation. Fish play an important role in nutrient cycles because they store a large proportion of ecosystem nutrients therefore we call a meeting to fishermen, communities along the shore of lake , Fisheries Department together to discuss about when not to fish that kind of fish because its breeding time.
• Climate: Climate Change is a major changes in temperature, perception or wind patterns that occur over several decades. Climate change is real. We are planting trees each year since 2017 and we civic educate people in communities that cutting down trees is the primereason for the climate change.
Projects:
• Women’s And Childrens Rights: Go Green save Environment Women And Children’s Rights (GGSEWCR) works to promote and protect human rights through education, advocacy and development programs at the community with much emphasis on women and children. We are committed to women and youth development and to actively addressing some of Malawi’s most critical environmental and socio‐economic challenges affecting women and youth, through education, skills development. GGSE works to provide empowerment and opportunities to people to help bring about the needed changes.
The activities of GGSE encompass several areas including education, child care and protection, women and girls empowerment, health care, capacity building, HIV/ AIDS, community development , global environment and peace.
• Waste Management Project: Why Plastic Is Bad For The Environment? Environmentally, plastic is a growing disaster. Most plastics are made from petroleum or natural gas, non-renewable resources extracted and processed using energy-intensive techniques that destroy fragile ecosystems. The manufacture of plastic, as well as its destruction by incineration, pollutes air, land and water and exposes workers to toxic chemicals, including carcinogens.
• Tree Planting Project: Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and are key ingredients in one quarter of all medicines.
