Up with Community (UCO) is registered under the non-government organization registered in Tanzania Mainland and Island (Zanzibar). The vision of the organization is to help society towards improved living standards and sustainable social services free from all forms of poverty and diseases. Its mission is to eliminate poverty and help the population living below the poverty line through capacity building, creating general life awareness, facilitating entrepreneurship skills, promoting volunteerism and encouraging social accountability. The organization's main projects are in micro-finance, education, health, agriculture, environment, volunteer training and water projectsUp With COmmunity (UCO Tanzania) in Tanzania is a non-profit organization which supports and develops communities in Tanzania. The main areas of focus are health and disease prevention, economic empowerment, education of young people and women, and sustainability.
What we do
• We sensitize community on health issues such as HIV/Aids, cholera, and sexual transmitted diseases particularly on prevention measures, care and treatment in order to ensure community’s healthy status for economic growth.
• We raise awareness of the society on various economic activities such agriculture and trade through
• Promoting agricultural inputs support, giving priority to cash crops, food crops, livestock and bee keeping
• Supporting and facilitating the establishment of income generating activities such as soft loans provision to the society.
• We advocate and promote education programs particularly to youth and women by providing educational materials such books, fees and facilitate improvement of school buildings so as to reduce the number of illiteracy and poverty in the society
• We raise environmental awareness through environmentally friendly farming, afforestation, natural resources conservation, alternative use of solar and use bio-gas for heating and lighting.

Focus areas
• Education and Health: Our health projects are centered around awareness and cleanliness. We raise awareness through campaigns in our community to promote safe practice and knowledge of diseases such as, cholera and contact transferrable diseases such as Covid-19. Our campaigns take place in workplaces, schools and throughout the community to inform people about these diseases and how to avoid them. We believe that everyone should have access to clean water and soap for good hygiene, and we provide these necessities to struggling areas of our communities, fundraising to install sanitation stations, water fountains and other important structures especially for Menstrual hygiene management. We also work to ensure that all girls have access to proper menstrual hygiene in schools. We have worked with more than 3000 students to get resources especially school desks, stationary and school uniforms
• Environment: Our environment project is mostly involved in safety and care all living and non around environmental conservation. We are involved in promoting environment friendly ways of living through educating local communities and securing biodiversity in urban areas. Our campaigns take place in workplaces, schools and throughout the community to inform people about good and friendly ways of preserving water sources, forest and wild life . We believe that everyone should have access to clean water and fresh air for good hygiene, and we provide these necessities to struggling areas of our communities by campaigning trees planting, caring and cleaning areas around water bodies and other important structures. We also work to ensure that all rural families are aware of good ways of getting wood and charcoal.
