Über uns
Rural Women’s Initiative for Peace and Development (RUWIPAD), registered in 20219, is a community-based organization which was formed and registered with Kole District Local Government. Started by a group of nine women to discuss and develop ideas for dealing with social and economic hardships women and less fortunate children are facing in Kole district, located at Opeta Parish, Akaidebe Village, Aboke Sub-County, Kole District in the Northern part of Uganda.
Objectives:
• To lobby for health services.
• To empower young women with vocational skills and micro business.
• To set income generating project among women in Kole District with the vision of supporting vulnerable children under their care.
• To organize seminars, conferences and workshops at various levels in order to identify the economic problem of women and find ways of addressing them.
What we do?
Our organization is planning to start an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) center to provide pre-school education for 80 poorest children of 4 to 6 years old selected from poorest families. This project is planned to be implemented in Opeta “A” Village, Opeta Parish, Aboke Sub-County, Kole District, located in Northern part of Uganda to provide equal child rights for education of poor and rich families.
Early Childhood is the most rapid period of development in a human life. The goal of Early Childhood Development Education programs is to improve young children’s capacity to develop and learn. A child who is ready for school has a combination of characteristics. He or she is socially and emotionally healthy, confident and friendly; has good peer relationships; tackles challenging tasks and persistence with them, has good language skills and communicates well; and listens to instruction and is attentive. ECDE programs change the development trajectory of children by the time they enter school.
