Über uns
People Concern Children´s Project (PCCP) is a local Ugandan charity founded in 2006 and striving to instill fundamental life skills into disadvantaged children in its community and empower them to create a better future for themselves.
We aim to cultivate this ideal through basic education, which includes instruction in reading, writing, "green" education, computer skills, public speaking, and craft-making, and fostering an environment to promote learning. By "green" education we mean at a basic level we work to help children understand how to take care of the environment in which they live.
We are located at Kampala District in Makindye Division within Kabalagala Parish. Our offices are found in Kisasizi Local Council 1.
Our mission
To instill fundamental life skills into disadvantaged Ugandan children and empower them to create a better future for themselves.
Our vision
To create a world where children have access to quality health care and their families are able to better comfort and support them while actively participating in their care.
Programs:
• Sponsor a child: PCCP has a sponsorship program as one of the activities in place, the children that finish at the organization continue to other schools that have more high classes than the few classes at the organization, we therefore argue the well wishers to support these disadvantaged children to continue with their schooling with support of sponsorship from them.
• Disaster program: The Young Disaster Resilience Leaders (yDRL) is a pilot program that we carried out with Tulane University’s Disaster Resilience Leadership (DRL) program at the Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy and Makerere University´s School of Public Health. The project’s mission is to reduce disaster risk in communities while building a network of young disaster resilience leaders. the children and youth are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to address local disaster resilience issues. The program also has a goal to help promote an open dialogue between residents and community leaders. Ultimately yDRL hopes to be part of a mechanism for creating future disaster resilience leaders.
• New School Building Project: This project will help us build a model school that will allow the children and youth to grow the food that they eat, to find ways to reuse the waste that vulnerable communities generate, and test other ideas for creating sustainable, modern solutions to our pressing issues.
