The Partnership for Justice (PJ), founded in 2006, is a non-profit organization of professionals who share a commitment to equality, justice and globalization of human rights standards.

PJ works at all levels to offer services to victims of human rights violations and create linkages for the promotion and protection of human rights in Nigeria.

Mission: To impact public policy and social change and provide innovative range of services to achieve equality and justice.

Programmes:
• Gender Justice Programme: The goal of the programme is to promote gender equality and create better legal frameworks for the development and implementation of human rights standards.
• International Law and Public Policy Reform Advocacy Programme: The goal is to foster the culture of implementing regional and international human rights standards by expanding the capacity of policy makers, judicial officers and advocates to understand and apply principles of international human rights standards in policies and domestic courts.
• Public Interest Law and Development Programme: Through public interest law and advocacy, this programme aims at expanding domestic jurisdictions on interpretation of rights contained in international and domestic legal instruments.
• Governance, Transparency and Accountability Programme: The aim is to ensure responsible leadership that is transparent, accountable and committed to the need and aspirations of the people. The project activities build community pressure groups to hold the government accountable to its obligations at the community level.

Projects:
• Sexual violence project under which PJ: Sets up the Sexual Assault Referral Centre that will provide timely professional services to victims of sexual violence and their families; Forms a Sexual Assault Response Team that will promote healing of sexual violence victims and hold offenders accountable for their crimes; Organises a Community Mobilization Programme that forms a community partnership network to raise awareness, mobilize public opinion and action and disseminate prevention programmes with a view to creating a culture of prevention of sexual violence
• Rural Empowerment Project under which PJ builds the capacity of stakeholders especially women for economic, social, political and legal advancement of women
• Enhancing civil society engagement with the National Action Plan on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and other national, regional and international human rights instruments
• Engaging the African Commission, the United Nations Human Rights Council and the Universal Periodic Review to hold the government accountable to its human rights commitment
• Integrating Human Rights into Nigeria´s Foreign Policy
• Prolonged Detention Project and litigation on the death penalty
• Juvenile Justice on the basis of the Child Rights Act
• The Mirabel Centre: Partnership for Justice manages Nigeria´s rape crisis centre, known as Mirabel Centre providing free services that include; medical examination and treatment of victims of assault, counselling, reporting case to Police, free medication and drugs, pregnancy test etc. The Mirabel Centre is the first sexual assault referral Centre in Nigeria and the second in West Africa.

Itoro Eze-Anaba is the Managing Partner at the Programme Management Unit of the Partnership for Justice (PJ).
