Über uns

Project Feed the Children (PFTC), founded in 2008, is a Non-Profit Organisation run by permanent team members and volunteers from different backgrounds, with a common goal to care for, teach and feed children in the informal and rural settlements of Benoni, Gauteng; Delmas, Mpumalanga; Port Shepstone and Mashiwa, KZN.

Activities:
• We provide a drop-in centre for children and youth in our area.
• We care for orphans as well as other vulnerable children (OVC) and widows in need and feed the many starving children in the surrounding informal settlements and the abundant urban pupils who attend school every day without school lunch.
• We promote the involvement of diverse volunteers from different backgrounds to foster a greater understanding and compassion for people who have different living environments.
• We run a feeding scheme in schools, informal settlements and creches. Children at our pre-school facility are given 2 meals a day.
• At our after school programme children are assisted with their homework and assignments in our mini library.
• Meals are provided for children every day, while food parcels and clothing are distributed weekly to OVC and needy families in informal settlements.
• We run a rape and trauma support group once a month as well as workshops on nutrition and parenting.
• We provide life skills training and we assist and refer regarding grant applications.
• We run a gardening project to supplement our feeding scheme.
