Über uns
Founded in 2008, 100cameras is a nonprofit organization that works with youth around the world who have had challenging experiences, and we teach them how to process and tell their stories through photography in a way that impacts how they view themselves and their role in their community.
We provide a platform to sell their photographs and give 100% of the proceeds back to fund the most pressing needs in their communities, enabling them to see the impact of their contribution.
Our curriculum utilizes photography to provide a clearing where youth can process and tell the stories of their past, present, and future with no judgment or expectations. From the USA to India to Cuba to Vietnam to Iraq, Uganda, Venezuela, and more, youth are learning how to process their experiences, express themselves, and tell the stories of their lives through our custom curriculum that teaches storytelling, self-expression, and photography skills. Program participants recognize the power that their perspectives have through learning that it has always been their own story and their own voice - and that their participation is very much needed in the bigger picture.
Program
• Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum: Our program is not a typical SEL curriculum. It utilizes photography as a dynamic tool for self-expression, offering students a delightful and engaging way to develop essential social and emotional skills. Students learn how to connect deeper with their own inner thoughts, feelings, and life experiences through individualized activities. And equally as critical, they are prompted to practice active listening to the thoughts, feelings, and life experiences of their peers through constructive discussions and group activities. This unique approach makes learning not only impactful but also enjoyable for both students and educators.
• The Platform: The 100cameras program platform is specifically designed to work worldwide in partnership with local organizations such as schools, community centers, children’s homes, enrichment programs, after-school programs, and more. Through interactive lectures, camera and photo activities, and group discussions, our custom curriculum and methodology utilize storytelling and photography to provide a clearing where youth can process and tell their stories and experiences with no judgment or expectations. Various budget options are available and built specifically around what your organization needs, including options for free programming.
