The Youth and Press Development Organization (YPDO) in Zambia, was established in 2000. Its objective is to provide support and to address the poverty issues faced by youths and other vulnerable groups. The organization works towards the empowerment of youth, with the hope that the youth in turn will be able to overcome the spreading HIV/AIDS epidemic and that they will strive for sustainable development. The organization is non-governmental and non-political, run by youths.

One of YPDO's focuses is on Information Communication Technology (ICT) as a tool for advancement of the mental and physical development of youths and children. The Access Technology Project (ATP) revolves around the establishment of a research and training center in Chiliabombwe, Zambia. The main goal is to provide training of about 3000 youths in various development issues, such as agriculture and ICTs, and additionally providing secretarial training. The centers will also act as information exchange centers for youths.

Project goals:

- To provide secondary school graduates with training in secretarial-, ICT- and internet surfing skills.
- To provide training for those people who have never attended school, who are keen to learn more in ICT.
- To target researchers and teachers who have not had prior access to ICT facilities. Besides the increased potential to address sustainable development and self-reliance, more informed teachers will be more beneficial to youth and children.
- ATP targets 2000 youths and vulnerable individuals as a pilot scheme out of a wider projection of 10,000 individuals. Of the target 2000, 80% are orphans with the following backgrounds: Aged 8 or above; both young girls and boys (the emphasis of gender equality provides a stage for participation in community development); an average family of six monthly incomes totaling approximately ; about 60% of the youths do not attend school due to economic and financial constraints as most of these youths are forced to look after themselves.

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Also we can offer expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, deliver a lecture, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the following field: community project, education project and spiritual activity. We wish to partner with any organisation in the world with similar intentions.
