About us

In 2006 Foot2Afrika, a volunteering and adventure organization, was formed by two local Tanzanian men, Emmason and Johnson. They have a good understanding of how and where your volunteering efforts will make a real impact in the lives of the local people. They have lived here, grown up here, and seen first hand the struggles faced here. They found, that within other volunteer agencies, volunteers were often disappointed by the high rates that they were charged to volunteer. Hence, Foot 2 Afrika was born. They disagree with the profit orientated nature of many companies within Tanzania who charge high rates to volunteer at local projects. Instead they take independent volunteers from all over the world to work at the projects they are connected with, which include 7 orphanages, 3 nursery schools, a secondary school and 4 women groups. Additionally they run a project at an orphanage in the town and are involved in setting up a clinic for victims of sexual violence at a local hospital. Volunteers either work directly at the projects which Foot 2 Afrika runs or is placed in contact with worthwhile projects in the town. The organization feels that the work that volunteers carry out must be both rewarding and beneficial to the volunteer and local community.

Volunteering projects:

• Teaching and Learning (English, computer and IT)
• Orphanage Volunteering (Foot2Afrika works with 3 orphanage homes which are located in Moshi at the gateway of the Mountain Kilimanjaro)
