About us
Conscience International (CI) is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit human rights and development organization, founded in 2004 and based in Banjul, The Gambia. CI is also registered and working as a Community Base Organization (CBO) in Sierra Leone.
CI works to maximize the knowledge, respect and observance of the human rights of men, women and children in Africa and beyond; and to enhance the awareness of human rights work through linkages with national, regional and international like-minded entities.
Working with national, sub-regional, regional and international human rights and development organizations, CI documents violence and discrimination against women, men and children and adds an international action overlay to support their efforts to advance the individual rights of women, men and children who are suffering abuse.
