About us
LITTLE EDEN is a registered non-profit organisation [001-827 NPO and PBO No.930/0000/03] providing life-long care to children and adults with profound intellectual disability in two custom designed residential facilities, Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale (DDHH) and Elvira Rota Village (ERV), in Bapsfontein,.geared to helping them reach their full potential.
LITTLE EDEN Society established in 1967 in South Africa, is licensed to operate under the Department of Health Gauteng Provincial Government and is a registered Non-profit Organisation (001-827 NPO). LITTLE EDEN Foundation (LEF) was established in 2010 with its purpose to safeguard, grow and ensure the provision of funds, assets, services, and other resources to LITTLE EDEN Society. It is a registered Non-profit Organisation (100-006 NPO), and an approved Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930 034 635).
Our Mission
To care for, develop and enhance the quality of life, with love and understanding from a dedicated staff, persons with intellectual disability of all races and creeds entrusted to us, by providing with trust in Divine Providence and in co-operation with the parents, the community and the State the necessary spiritual, nursing, therapy and stimulation services in as efficient and economic a manner as possible.
Our work
• At LITTLE EDEN we aim to develop persons with intellectual disabilities to their full potential and to encourage the community to recognise that each such person is whole and complete created by God with a mind, a body, a spirit, a soul however differently abled.
• Care and stimulation programmes include Physiotherapy, Music Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Stimulation, Pet Therapy, Spiritual Care
• We provide specialised training and team building functions to encourage staff to build strong connections with one another. We also have a Caring for the Carers programme which takes place on a weekly basis at both DDHH and ERV. All staff are invited to participate in 45 minutes of “time-out” to recharge and renew.
Xelda Rohrbeck is the CEO of LITTLE EDEN.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff.
