About us
About us
The association "People for Animal Rights, Bayreuth" was founded on 30 April 2010 by animal friends who want to campaign for the rights of animals in the Bayreuth area.
Our goal is to educate people about animal rights and to bring about a rethinking of human-animal relations in our society.
The purpose and aim of the association is animal welfare, to abolish animal experiments, and to emphasize fundamental animal rights. The association defends animals against economic and scientific abuse, against genetic manipulation, torture and extermination. It demands procedures to safeguard the rights of animals in independent and state agencies as well as in the control and legal actions of the animal welfare associations.
Our work:
• With information stands, demonstrations or vigils we want to inform the public about the various areas in which animals are exploited by humans and their rights are violated. These include topics such as factory farming, animal experiments, fur and leather, zoo and circus, pet ownership, stray dogs, stray cats, information on vegan-vegetarian diet etc. For us, animal rights, human rights and nature conservation are bound together.
• In addition, we also engage in practical animal welfare, and network with various other associations and organizations in the Upper Franconian region, to which we partly send our received donations.
• We are happy to meet interested people in our monthly meeting "meet and eat [vegan]", which takes place every first Tuesday of the month, during which we try the vegetarian-vegan cuisine in various restaurants in Bayreuth.
Claudia Langmeyer is the vice chairwoman of People for Animal Rights, Bayreuth.
On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
