About us
About us
House of Hilkiah Foundation (HOHF) is a Nigeria-based Nongovernmental and Nonprofit Organization birthed with the goal of empowering women and providing formal and informal educational support for young girls as well as providing for youths.
House of Hilkiah Foundation (HOHF) has conducted several capacity and peace-building training programs, and has also engaged women in rural areas of Benue State, particularly those affected by Herdsmen’s attacks on rural farmers. HOHF has also carried out trainings, provided entrepreneurial and vocational skills building seminars for young populace.office based in Benue state,Nigeria.

To create an enabling environment where possibilities, opportunities are the same for all regardless of gender, tribe, religion and race.

Thematic Areas.
a. Entrepreneurship and youth women employment education
We sensitize and training women on latest trends to finding sustainable ways of living. We aim at boosting their intellect and preparing them with skills to fit into new opportunities.
b. Women and Gender.
We enhance policy levels and operational collaborations between local and international organizations. We aim to increase women participation and inclusion in all sectors.
c. Health Challenges and Substance Abuse.
We advocate and sensitize schools and communities on health issues, mental health challenges and effects related to substance abuse. We aim to reduce the level of substance abuse in schools and communities.
d. Peace Building and Conflict Resolution.
We collaborate with Government and other bodies on policy implementation as it relates to peace building and conflict resolutions. We aim to restore peaceful communities.
e. Agriculture and Food Security.
We advocate for increase access to funding for rural women in agriculture. We source for grants to empower local communities.
OBJECTIVES
1.Encourage and support innovative approaches to existing social and education structures.
Aim: to impact on the welfare and development of children and youths.
2.Advocate for the rights of women and the girl child.
Aim: to instill gender balance and restore the dignity of women and the girl child in all sectors.
3.Encourage, Fund and Support community based projects.
Aim: to help women/youth within the community generate a sustainable income project and create jobs for their immediate populace.
Expected Output:fund and support 6 community based businesses in 6 communities
4.Eradicate and sensitize rural communities on health related issues and effect of substance abuse.
Aim: to provide support for people affected by endemic disease and those with issues relating to drug abuse.
5.Promote Peace and Security.
Aim: to engage people to bridge religious and cultural differences and work together in building a sustainable peaceful community.
6.Advocate for sustainable environment.
Aim: To imbibed the culture of care for environment with communities for a better and friendly environment in the future.
PROJECTS
1. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT:Training and empowering women in financial and practical skills in running businesses.
2. LEADERSHIP AND PEACE-BUILDING FOOTBALL COMPETITION:using sports as a diplomacy to empower youths in violent prone communities.
3.RISE UP:A project where the organization will be visiting the sick people in the hospital to donate items, spend time with them, to show love and care for the sick both physical and emotional and provide words of encouragement where needed.
4.BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY CLUB: is a dynamic girl- centered project dedicated to enhancing the quality of girls´ lives by providing programs that builds integrity, respect and self-worth for every young girl who has been a victim of drug abuse, prostitution, human trafficking, early marriage, teenage mum, cultism among others and are struggling to rise above the limitations placed on womanhood that may lead them to live a stereotype life because they don´t have any one to invest in their potentials, support and guide them from being a social problem .this opportunity will help them to learn various skills, get counselling and mentor-ship
Dorothy Akende is the Executive Director of House of Hilkiah Foundation (HOHF).
