About us
PAMS Foundation is a non-profit conservation organization whose mission is to empower the people who protect wildlife and wild places. It was founded in Tanzania in 2009, by Krissie Clark, Dr. Ally Namangaya and Wayne Lotter with a vision to enable a world in which people understand the value of nature, have the necessary support to peacefully co-exist with wildlife, and where wildlife and wild places are secure.
We are registered as an International NGO in Tanzania, a 501 (c)(3) charity in the USA and a non-profit in Italy. Our on-the-ground work is done primarily in Tanzania.
Our mission
To empower the people who protect wildlife and wild places
Our vision
To enable a world in which wildlife and wild places are secure and communities have the support necessary to live safely and in harmony with wildlife
Through partnerships with communities, local and national government and other key stakeholders, PAMS addresses the most pertinent challenges faced by wildlife, wild places and people living in natural areas. This includes work or support to:
• combatting illegal wildlife trafficking at a national and transnational scale;
• counter illegal poaching & logging;
• support prosecution of environmental crimes,
• empower rangers;
• enable detection dogs work,
• promote human wildlife coexistence and
• introduce environmental education.
Focus activities
• Combatting Illegal Wildlife Trafficking & Anti-Poaching: Combatting illegal wildlife trafficking in Tanzania and elsewhere in Africa by supporting intelligence-led law enforcement and rangers in the field. Providing them with the necessary equipment, capacity building, and training, and also facilitating successful prosecution of criminals
• Environmental Education: Implementing environmental education programs to encourage nature protection and wildlife conservation
• Human Wildlife Conflict Solutions: Supporting communities with compassionate solutions to mitigate human-wildlife conflict
• Biological Exploration: Supporting biological exploration and biological value assessments of overlooked and poorly known areas, and improving their legal protected status
Krissie Clark is one of the Founders of PAMS Foundation.
