About us

EarthDance is a non-profit organization, founded in 2008 through a partnership with The Open Space Council. EarthDance is a community and culture catalyst - We envision farms that not only grow food and flowers, but also the arts, relationships, and music ... sustainably!

Our Mission:
EarthDance sustainably grows food, farmers, and community, one small farm at a time, through hands-on education and delicious experiences.
We at EarthDance are concerned about the health of our youth and the health of the environment. We aim to create an exciting connection between youth and their food source.

Our Vision:
• We envision productive local farms where creative endeavors can bloom alongside flourishing produce.
• We envision former strangers cultivating the land together and growing relationships in addition to sugar snap peas.
• We envision an Artist-in-Residence gaining inspiration from the beauty of a community farm and in return sharing their talents with farm-workers and farm-goers.
• We envision individuals from all walks of life coming to EarthDance to learn skills in organic farming and gardening, to taste a fresh-picked carrot, and to see where their food comes from.

Programs
• Organic Farming Apprenticeship Program: Part-time organic farming training program
• Camp EarthDance: A farm-to-table camp for middle school students. Camp EarthDance offers a fun-filled and educational environment in which young people can visit a local farm, watch how carrots grow, and learn how and why to prepare and eat a healthy, local foods-based lunch. Campers will also "celebrate the culture in agriculture" by engaging in art, music, and fitness activities that let them further explore what they are learning. Camp EarthDance is an opportunity to learn where food comes from, and how to grow it in partnership with nature.
• Artist in Residence: This program exists to invite photographers, painters, musicians, and all manner of creative people for a time and space away from their usual environment. They provide a time of reflection, research, presentation and/or production. They also allow individuals to explore his/her practice within another community; meeting new people, using new materials, experiencing life in a new location.
• Community Supported Agriculture (CSA): Community members invest in their local farm by paying for a full season’s worth of produce before the growing season starts. This benefits growers by providing them with income when their need is greatest, before market sales begin.
• Farm Tours: One of the best ways to get connected with EarthDance is to come out to the Mueller Farm in Ferguson and see our farming operation in action!
