About us

Coast against Plastic (Küsten gegen Plastik), founded in 2013, has been recognized as a non-profit organisation since 17.07.2018 and works for the promotion of nature conservation, landscape management, environmental protection, coastal protection and flood protection.
We are coastal people who no longer accept that the plastic garbage in the sea literally falls at their feet. We do information work on many levels. We are present at the National Round Table on Marine Waste in the Working Group for onshore input, we give lectures, do media work, set up information booths and do garbage collection activities.
Activities:
• Beach garbage: In garbage collection campaigns, anyone can help to slightly reduce the damage to the oceans by plastic waste. We find such actions important for public relations.
• Replace Plastic: But we believe it's not enough to just pick up the plastic waste. We have to stop producing it. With our smartphone app ReplacePlastic, customers can easily tell product manufacturers by barcode scanning that they want their packaging without plastic. If you're using this app and other people are alerting you to this possibility, you can help us to make clear the demand for plastic-free packaging from the manufacturer.
