Swiss Youth for Climate (SYFC)

About us

Swiss Youth for Climate (SYFC) was established in 2015 as a non-partisan association. It quickly gained popularity and built an extensive network in Switzerland and abroad. We have regional groups in six cities in Switzerland, we conduct national political projects, and we participate to international climate negotiations.

Our goals
• Advocate for pragmatic, responsible, and ambitious climate policies at the national and international level.
• Raise awareness about the emergency of the climate crisis and about the importance of local and global actions.
• Mobilize the population, in particular the young generation, in favor of the ecological transition.
• Take part in international climate conferences as Swiss civil society representatives.

Projects:
• Regional groups play an essential role in climate policy because they organize SYFC events and activities throughout Switzerland. We have six regional groups. Their main focus is to gather members from the same region.
• Adopt a Parliamentarian is a national political project. Each participant adopts a Swiss parliamentarian and interact with him or her to raise the ambitions of national climate policies. It is a crucial project as the Switzerland is currently revising its main climate law.
• Climate Express is a national project to raise awareness around the solutions to climate change in Switzerland. It takes place once a year in the form of a race between teams, which needs to explore key points in Switzerland with the least carbon footprint.
• International Negotiations: We take part to interactional climate negotiations as civil society observers. Since COP21 in 2015, we took part to each international negotiations. It is a great opportunity to meet government officials, negotiators, and other youth organisations.
