About us

Potential Education for Girls Foundation (PEGF) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-racial and not profit sharing organization which registered under the Tanzania NGO Act, No.24 of 2002.

This organization was established by people who aimed at protecting and supporting education for girls through various interventions in the country.

PEGF is an organization that deals with girls challenges, ie, to know their rights, self-awareness & mostly their right to get education & fulfill their dreams.

Being aware of the challenges of girls as far as education is concerned, Organization Members have devoted to take responsibility on protecting them from their homes to schools by taking deliberate efforts to eradicate all misconceptions about their education, traditions and customs which embarrass the dignity of girls and women in general.

The organization will cooperate with communities, Local Government Officials, Central Government Officials and other stakeholders on dealing with all perception and issues that hinder the progress of girls academically. The organization will ensure that, all the information concerning the girl has been collected in order to observe the attendance of girls in schools

Programs:
• Elimika clubs: Elimika clubs are a coalition of young women (at school and ward level) and a coalition of young girls and men at the college level who in their union under the parent organization Potential Pducation for Girls Foundation (PEGF) have EDUCATION in various aspects of economic, innovative, social, gender equality etc.. In these clubs there is a guardian who we believe has the ability to advise and supervise clubs not to break the laws of the land, violate our culture and procedures as a Nation, provide education to members, audit the income of clubs and its use, in school clubs the guardian plays a major role to encourage members to focus on classroom lessons and in-house training in productive clubs especially after graduation.
• Guidance and Counseling Program: We offer advice to female students,to keep them on the main moral and professional path.
Training for Gilrs: School Girls and those who failed to continue with formal education, this training based on self reliance objectives.

Ivan Mahimbi is the Chair Of The Board Of Directors of Potential Education for Girls Foundation (PEGF).
