About us

GIBICTS Center for Youth Development (GCYD) started about 18 years ago when the founder established a computer training school called Magacom. The school first started in Koforidua in 1998 as Magacom computer training with a branch in Konongo. In the year 2009, Magacom computer training was moved to Birim North District, New Abirem and changed its name to Global Institute of Business and ICT Studies (GIBICTS).

Our Objectives
The main objective of the GCYD Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building programs are to enhance employability of unemployed young people (aged 16-35 years) by providing trainings in the field of ICT, Agriculture and other apprenticeship training programs to improve vocational and technical skills, employment services and by promoting entrepreneurship.

Mission
To develop and build the capacity of the underprivileged youth through apprenticeship programs in the field of ICT, Agribusiness, and Vocational/Technical to promote self-employment and other forms of employment. This is hopefully to reduce youth unemployment and the rate of poverty in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Vision
To create a platform for unearthing the innate potentials of the individual as well as giving the individual the opportunity of becoming the best of him or herself.

Our Programs
• GIBICTS - IT Training: The main objective of GCYD ICT Training is to provide training to young people on basic Information and Communication Technology skills and how to use these skills to start a business. The intervention provides free internet access to the youth. Some of the beneficiaries receive small grants to start a business. The project has also a library where the youth are able to access reading materials and newspapers to increase their knowledge on ICT. The programme targets the youth between 18 – 35yrs.
• Agribusiness & Training: This program has the objective of motivating the youth to accept and appreciate farming/food production as a commercial venture, thereby taking up farming as a life time vocation. Components of the Training: Crops Production; Livestock; Poultry; Fisheries/Aquaculture
• Vocational & Entrepreneurial Training
• Health & Environmental Management: GIBICTS Center for Youth Development, is seeking to compliment ongoing effort to achieve local adopted millennium development goals through community level intervention by building capacity and educating community members on best practices in health and sanitation.
• Child Education
• School Feeding Program for Adadekrom L/A; Basic School
• Social Intervention: Social Intervention for deprived communities
• Scholarship: Scholarship for bright but needy students
