About us
The Sustainable Beekeeping and Human Development (SuBeHuDe) is a national non-governmental, non-profit-making and non-partisan organization established in 2014 by a group of young sustainable human development activists and was officially registered on 20th of Nov, 2015.
The SuBeHuDe was set up as an NGO, based in Tanzania with the specific aim of promoting achievement of advanced human development for the utmost number of people in present and future generations.
Our work
• The SuBeHuDe provide short course training in commercial beekeeping, practical permaculture, eco-entrepreneurship, environmental conservation; renewable energy and climate change action, biodiversity and natural resource management; and community capacity building.
• The other SuBeHuDe’s activities are to promote access of quality education for all, healthcare and clean drinking water and promotion of human achievement in which we believe will result in improved livelihood and sustainable communities for successful and timely interventions.
• We are also building a network to provide learning support, mentorship and financial assistance to the young beekeepers, permies, api-prenuers and conservationists.
Activities
• Education: Provision of quality education, educational materials to promote literacy and Scholarships for underserved or rural communities in Tanzania. There are two primary schools (Majengo and Ipuli Primary School) near our rented office that are in very bad conditions, kids are lacking sitting desks, toilets and toiletry, and underserved schooling children lacking uniforms, exercise books, pens, and other scholastic materials to name just a few.
• Environment: We are running School Climate Change Programs aiming at raising awareness on conservation and climate change mitigation and adaptation targeting primary, secondary school children and higher education environmental students but challenged with resources to secure garden equipment and tools like beehives, honey and beeswax processing equipment, and tools wheelbarrows, water cans, shovels, holes, water pipes, protective gears, the funds to buy tree seeds/seedlings, IEC materials and water for a volunteer to drink during planting.
Mayaya Kahinje Singu is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Beekeeping and Human Development (SuBeHuDe).
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of beekeeping, permaculture, eco-entreprenuership, health and education. We are seeking further supports in our following themes: sponsorship and scholarship to access quality nursary to higher education, construction of rural health centers, transport for the health workers, equipment and tools for sustainable agriculture, beekeeping equipment and tools for beekeeping practices.
