About us
Our organisation Schwäbisch Hall Friends of Africa, is an alliance of people with various backgrounds living in and around Schwäbisch Hall, near Stuttgart in Germany. We support measures providing effective help for people in developing countries. In addition, we support cross-cultural meetings as wells as groups having the aim of self-help in Africa. This is mainly achieved by organising voluntary exchanges and educational events. We support various social projects in Africa.
In and around Schwäbisch Hall we organise cultural and political development events as well as talks and seminars on the topic “one world”, on the concept of global learning and on cross-cultural communication.
Inland work:
• Ubuntu: under the motto “Diversity, not simple-mindedness” this is concerned with global learning in the region.
• Participation in the UN Decade “Education for Sustainable Development” and provision of global learning in schools.
• Placement of instructors in global learning in schools and extra curricular events in cooperation with the EPIZ Reutlingen
• procurement of schools in Africa for twinning
• Briefing and debriefing seminars for international volunteers, especially in connection with “weltwärts”.
• further education for migrants and returnees from southern countries to become involved in global learning (see Ubuntu)
• networking and start-up advice for migrants' self help organisations (MGO)
