About us
Gosanet is an acronym for Good Samaritan Network. Gosanet Foundation is a non-governmental organization(NGO) founded in November 2005 by Mr. Samuel Yao Atidzah, HIV Counselor and caregiver with support from Miss Edith Abla Amenuvor, Mrs. Dorothy Akorfa Botchie, Mr. Cephas Ofori, Mr. Jerry Delali Zokli, Mr. Prosper H. Akussah and Rev. Emmanuel Quist Agboka; against the backdrop of contributing to Health and Development needs of communities in Volta Region and Ghana as a whole.
Volta Region is one of the 10 regions of Ghana; located along the southern half of the eastern boarder which it shares with the Republic of Togo, with population of 2,118,252 (2010 census). Volta Region is rated among the poorest of the 10 regions of Ghana in 2004 by Ghana Poverty Strategy Framework. Similarly, the 2004 HIV/AIDS pandemic have been very high in the Volta Region amounting to 3.5%. Ho capital of VR was also rated among the highest six towns with HIV/AIDS prevalent rate of 5.8%. The situation of the Region’s high prevalence rate in HIV/AIDS and at the same time, being economic deprived touched these devoted people to form Gosanet Foundation.
The organization works in close collaboration with the then, framework of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy Document (GPRS); through the reduction of diseases, poverty, illiteracy and ignorance in the Region.
Currently, the NGO engages in the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also coordinated campaign activities annually with National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD).
Description
GOSANET Foundation is a non-governmental, HIV & AIDS service, voluntary, humanitarian, non-partisan and nonprofit making organization established in 2005 with the aims of contributing to the health, education and developmental needs of communities in Ghana.
GOSANET is a recognized civil society organization (CSO) which was incorporated in 2006 and officially registered under the companies’ code of 1963, Act 179.
The organization is a registered charity. Its mandate is to create opportunities to enhance the socio-economic condition and well-being of the citizenry, and provide volunteer programs around the world in partnership with sustainable community initiatives.
Its objective is to promote and involvement in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in order to create a better world, such as Poverty Reduction, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other health promotion activities and volunteer programmes around the world in partnership with sustainable community initiatives: bringing people together to work side by side while sharing perspectives and fostering cultural understanding.
It is a United Nations, ECOSOC accredited organization, with no political affiliation. Certain development projects to be undertaken by the Gosanet (Good Samaritan Network) Foundation are to be funded by other development agencies or donors either in cash or in kind.
The NGO is seriously looking for partners, for development and project sponsoring. Gosanet Foundation has registered with the Ghana Revenue Authority in compliance with section 118 of the Internal Revenue Act, 2000 (Act 592) and has been granted charitable status under the companies Act. 1960, on provision for tax exempt, hence on Tax holiday till the stipulated time period provided by the Act expires.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
Mandate: Create opportunity to enhance the socio-economic and well- being of the citizenry and involvement in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Mission Statement
To provide opportunities for people who live in circumstances of social and economic deprivation to eradicate poverty and provide for, Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, vocational training, community development and other health related issues.
Objectives
To help increase the number of people at risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS to receive HIV counseling, Testing and other preventions, treatment and care services.
To provide care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) and also bring them together in fund raising, income generating activities and companionship.
To strengthen the collective socio-economic capacity of the family to meet the challenges of caring for children and pupils/students who had become HIV/AIDS positive, or disabled and orphaned.
To help individuals develop effective communication skills, this will assist them in education of others about HIV/AIDS prevention and other related disease.
To help reduce the widespread illiteracy in the communities and promote child education and community development programmes.
For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
