Self-Help Addiction Rehabilitation - Cameroon (SARC)

About us

Nearly 200 million people consume illicit drugs worldwide. The number is constantly rising in Cameroon and so are the associated diseases such as HIV/AIDS, and problems such as the destruction of lives and careers. This is why SARC exists. The Self-Helf Addiction Rehabilitation is a non-governmental organization, founded in 1997 by Mr. Alain Ndedi, to bring together professionals in different disciplines who exchange ideas, expertise, through activities in the field of dependencies.

The mission of SARC is to help people (mostly young and women) facing drug problems and other addictions to take care of themselves.

At SARC we think that a company cannot use a person if he is not skilled or don't have the abilities to fill the job specification of a certain position advertised. By training people to acquire some skills that will be useful to them in the future and consequently to their reinsertion in the social life, our mission as any institution contributing to the welfare of the population is just the above with the following stated objectives:
the aim of the project ist the reinsertion of

- unemployed,
- former addicts,
- streets kids and
- prostitutes.

The project will consist of a centre of training in informatics with the emphasis on the following issues: initiation in word and excel, Internet facilitator, training on self-secretary, etc.

The needs of our movement are financial and also physical and moral for those who may not be able to provide the financial support. All these donations will be kindly accepted and the outcome of the project will be announced in due time to all the donors.
