About us
Jawahar Rural People's Development Organisation (JRPDO) is a registered non-governmental organisation working in the villages of Thiruvannamalai district in Tamilnadu State, India.
Goal
Empowerment of the poor and downtrodden women
Objectives of the organization
• To mobilize the downtrodden and oppressed communities in the rural and tribal villages in Thiruvannamalai district and create all round awareness and provide varied skills.
• To make the people aware of their social, economic and cultural situation and motivate them to come together to change the situation in their favour through their collective struggle and combined strength.
• To take up environment and ecology, biodiversity conservation endeavors in the target villages through education, training, promotion of nurseries, kitchen gardens and agro forestry etc.
• To promote the health of the grassroots through education, referral, follow up, capacity building of the volunteers, promote peer educators, etc
• To fight against HIV/AIDS, educate the communities and organize care and support to the Persons Living with HIV/AIDS.
• To make people understand all about Covid-19/Corona and undertake all preventive actions.

• Seed money for the poor women groups to do income generation activities.
• Self-help promotion & formation and maintenance of self-help groups, saving and credit practices.

• Health promotion & disease prevention with special emphasis on Covid 19 / Corona and HIV/AIDS

• Turkey birds as an income generating activity to help 80 tribal women in Jawadhi Hill
• Goat rearing program for women
• White Pig rearing program for women
• Leprosy Awareness & Detection
• HIV / AIDS Awareness
• Backyard Country Chicken Farming
